Tumor biobanks contain only very few samples of metastatic tumor tissues or tissue samples from chemo-resistant tumors obtained after therapy. The PathoLink project aims to overcome this lack of sample problem by connecting the biobanks of all five University Pathology Institutes and by introducing a standardized patient report for all 5 selected.
The project will generate a unique dataset of exceptional scientific and medical value and will contribute to a nationwide interoperability of clinical and omics data in Switzerland.
This project is financed by SNSF through the Biolink call and the PI is Holger Moch, Director of the Institute of Pathology of UZH.
SBP participates in this project through the definition of the dataset, its implementation and by establishing how this dataset will be shared through an e-catalogue between the 5 Pathology Institutes.
