A directory is a tool to share aggregate information about biobanks within a network. It provides a central listing of biobanks offering researchers a way of finding samples and related data, while for biobanks, it offers a platform to promote their biological resources and services and to connect with interested researchers.
This directory targets:
Biobankers who want to increase their biobank visibility or promote their services
Researchers who are looking for samples and related data or for infrastructures offering specific services
Patients or research participants who are interested in knowing which biobanks store specific samples or in obtaining general information about certain biobanks
How to become visible in SBP or BBMRI directories?
Swiss directory: SBP NExT
SBP developed the first national directory for biobanks and biobanks’ infrastructures.
Only the biobanks and biobank infrastructures which have achieved SBP labels are visible in SBP NExT.
If you wish to register your biobank or biobank infrastructure in SBP NExT, please register first on the Biobank SQAN.
BBMRI-ERIC directory is the world’s largest biobank catalogue. BBMRI-ERIC operates on the basis of a federated model, composed of National Nodes. Swiss Biobanking Platform being BBMRI Swiss Node, SBP supports you for the registration of your biobanks or biobank’s infrastructure in BBMRI directory.
If you wish to register your biobank or biobank infrastructure in the BBMRI Directory, you should first register in the SBP Directory. For more information, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
