A learning experience for CAS in Biobanking students

As part of their training programme, the CAS in Biobanking students were invited to visit the outstanding Liquid Biobank Bern (LBB), located within the Inselspital Bern, under the guidance of experienced biobank professionals.

Beyond the distance-learning format, the CAS programme offers participants the opportunity to experience biobanking in practice through an on-site visit. This activity takes place during the third module of the programme and is also available as a video for remote participants.

The Liquid Biobank Bern was selected for its state-of-the-art infrastructure for the automated and standardised processing and storage of liquid samples. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world biobanking practice.
