Node
As the Swiss node of the European network, we enable researchers to establish reliable connections and collaborations, thereby enhancing the excellence, impact, and visibility of their work.
A sample is not meant to stay in a freezer
By bridging national efforts with the European vision, we provide researchers with access to a coherent framework that promotes scientific advancement and enables cross-domain collaboration.
Building our Future with BBMRI-ERIC
Advancing biobanking through the new Roadmap and SNSF funding
With the release of BBMRI-ERIC’s 10-Year Roadmap and the support of Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) funding, we’re set to elevate our efforts in biobanking. Together, we’re shaping a future focused on innovation, collaboration, and impactful research across Europe.
Aligning the BBMRI-Roadmap in a National Context
Following the publication of BBMRI-ERIC’s 10-Years Roadmap, over the next four years, SBP will:
- Build on its successful integrated approach for biobanks, expanding its benefits to researchers. Using this robust structure, SBP aims to facilitate access to samples and assess their impact on advancing research both nationally and at the European level.
- Focusing on four key areas—Quality, Sustainability, Education, and Building Bridges—directly aligned with the strategic objectives outlined in the BBMRI Roadmap.
The BBMRI-ERIC’s 10-Year Roadmap was created in collaboration with its community. It is a framework for the research infrastructure’s evolution over the next decade through increasingly aligned activities that:
- Adopt a One Health approach to tackle the complex interconnected challenges affecting human, animal and environmental health
- Develop and implement climate friendly operations
- Address and overcome challenges for ERICs in general, and BBMRI in particular
- Advance global perspectives
